Frigid Weather Sunday Night and Monday…Storm for Tuesday???

Posted by ns62590 on February 11, 2008

Here in the Mahoning Valley, Mother Nature sure has been kind to us for the ‘07-’08 Winter season. However, when it was cold, it sure has been cold. Overnight tonight expect lows to bottom out near 0 with wind chills near -15. The National Weather Service has issued a Wind Chill Advisory for the entire area in effect until 10AM Monday. If you must venture out, cover all exposed skin and aviod prolonged exposure to the frigid temps to avoid frostbite and hypothermia. Hopefully the schools do the right thing and close so the kids don’t have to freeze out there in the morning. Check your local TV news stations for the latest school closings and cancellations.

Now for the next possibility: a winter storm for Tuesday??? The latest evening runs of the forecast models are coming together for a decent storm, although nothing exciting. Current indications are that about 2 to 5 inches of snow can be possible across the entire area. However, if some warm air comes into the low pressure system, we may see some freezing rain or plain rain Tuesday afternoon, lowering the snow accumulations. We shall see what happens!!!
