Watching and Waiting

Posted by ns62590 on February 20, 2008

After all the fun we had last week with our winter storm, I’m ready for another one. However, I think I will be waiting for awhile until that happens. So, the closest thing I’ll get is a decent snowmaker poised to affect our area on Friday.

The computer models I think are on drugs this week, because they still are not agreeing on the timing of the storm. So the only thing I can say right now is what I’ve been saying now all week: there is the potential for a decent amount of snow Thursday night and Friday. At this time, it appears that 3 to 5 inches will be possible during this time frame, but I do not want to make any certain specifications at this time. Hopefully this afternoon, the models will come into better agreement on the storm. One thing is almost certain, however, that the majority of the precipitation will be all snow.

As for today, not a lot to talk about besides the temperatures. Highs today are only going to top out around 21 degrees. Tonight, lows will be near 7 degrees. Wind chills won’t be a huge problem, perhaps around 0 through 5 below. Any snow showers will be light and only add up to an inch or less.
