After a week of temperatures almost 20 degrees below average, we will warm up for the next week. We managed to receive measurable snowfall to a lot of people’s distaste this week. Only time will tell what this winter will bring. However, if it’s anything like our winter in 2003 which began with 0.1 inches on October 2, 2003 – we have a long way to go because that was a record year for snowfall in Northeastern Ohio. Many signs point to a cold and snowy winter, so we shall see what happens as this season unfolds.
However, as we look at the weather for your Halloween, we will see high temperatures a good 5 degrees above normal as highs will get to near 61 degrees, under partly cloudy skies. However, you will want to bundle up a little in the morning as we will drop to around 34 degrees. For trick or treat time, temperatures are expected to begin in the upper 50s, but drop to around 50 by the time the night ends. The dry and pleasant weather should continue for at least the next 5 days. Average temperatures for this time of year are in the middle 50s, so we should be about this or above this for the next week.

Well, it actually came true today. We received our first measurable snowfall of the year. The Youngstown Regional Airport in Trumbull County measured 1.7 inches. The snow didn’t last too long, but it remained very cold today as highs struggled to get to 40 degrees. However, we are done with the cold weather for awhile as a “warm-up” is on the way. Tomorrow’s highs will be around 52 degrees with partly cloudy skies. For your Halloween, we will see highs in the 60s! But remember, we will be beginning November, so this weather will be a premium: take it while we can! Have a great Thursday Youngstown!

Our blast of Winter weather will continue overnight tonight into Wednesday, but as we head into the end of the week, should be back to more fall-like weather. While some may see an inch or two wet accumulation but only on grass surfaces. However, be careful in the morning driving as it may be a little slippery. However, to brighten things up, the sun will return Thursday and Friday and by the weekend we may see temperatures in the 50s or near 60. Have a good and safe Wednesday!

We had our fair share of rain today, and overnight through tomorrow that will be some snow too. However, since it is still October, we can’t expect much in the way of snowfall accumulations from this week’s lake effect event. Most solid surfaces are still too warm to support snow. However, over the next day or so we can see an inch or two of snow add up on the grassy surfaces at any time, but it won’t stay around long. For Tuesday we will see off and on rain and snow showers with a high of about 40 degrees. We will also see some breezy conditions too, making it a little colder than it already is. On that note, stay warm and dry out there Youngstown!

Our weather here in the Mahoning Valley will turn wintry over the next few days, but won’t be too long lived. That being said, the next few days will be cold and wet. While we won’t see major accumulations, a dusting is possible if snow showers persist. For your Sunday night and Monday morning, rain and snow showers are possible as temperatures dip to around 34 degrees. Monday’s highs won’t get much higher as we top out to about 41 degrees. Try to stay warm out there everyone. Change will be coming. No, I’m not talking politics; the end of the week we’ll get highs back into the 50s.

Overall, your Sunday shouldn’t be too bad, however if you don’t like the wind, you will not like the forecast. A wind advisory has been placed for our area from noon through 10pm Sunday. Winds will be from 25 to 40 mph, with gusts around 50mph possible Sunday afternoon. We also have the chance for some light rain, mixing with, or possibly changing to snow overnight. The winds, however, will subside late Sunday evening. The winds are a result of a passing cold front. Highs will be around 61 degrees, but will rapidly drop after the cold front passes, and will bottom out near 34 overnight Sunday into Monday. The cold weather won’t be around too long, as temperatures will be in the upper 50s towards the end of the week. Have a good Sunday Youngstown!!!

As we begin the weekend, it certainly won’t be what everyone would like. Friday should begin relatively nice, but increasing clouds will be the story through the afternoon, and as we get toward the evening we will see some showers. Overnight Friday into Saturday we can see a pretty decent amount of rain, with the best chances ending by noontime Saturday. However, we will remain in an unsettled pattern through the middle of next week, where we will see the chance of rain AND snow showers at times. Friday’s high will be 55 degrees.

While the weather has been nice over the past few days, it sure has been chilly. That won’t change over the next week, as you can expect temperatures to only get colder with maybe some snow for next week. Did I just say snow? I believe so. But, we’ll get to that at a later date and time. For your Thursday and Friday your highs will be near 60, as lows drop to about 30. As we head into Friday night, the threat of rain will increase and continue through the weekend. More on this storm later, until then enjoy the great days on Thursday and Friday!

Today is going to be absolutely wonderful considering the weather we have had recently. Temperaures will be in the middle 60s today, under sunny skies. However, as we head into the overnight into Tuesday, we will have more cloudy conditions and the chance for rain. This will come from a cold front passing through the area tonight. Behind this cold front temperatures will be much colder and Tuesday’s highs will be in the upper 40s. Have a good afternoon, enjoy the nice Monday!

Tropical Storm Omar has weakened to a 40 mph tropical storm this morning, and is now a remnant area of low pressure over the north central Atlantic, about 820 miles east of Bermuda. This is the last update on Omar, as no regeneration is expected. The remnant circulation will meet with a cold front and bring rain to the Azores and eventually the British Isles next week. So, now no threats of tropical cyclone formation are in the immediate future. However, we still have 6 more weeks of the Atlantic hurricane season, and on average about 1 or 2 more storms form between now and then, so don’t let your guard down yet.
