As if you didn’t know already, it is frigid outside tonight! Lows will drop down to around -5 degrees. This combined with winds of 15 to 25 mph will create wind chills between -20 and -24 degrees. Therefore, our wind chill advisory will remain in effect overnight through noon Monday. I don’t have to say this, but please cover up all exposed skin if you will be outdoors overnight and tomorrow morning and early afternoon. We will “warm” up all the way to 17 degrees on Monday. We may see some snow showers overnight; adding up to an inch or two. Stay warm out there everyone!

Wind & Wind Chill Advisory
Posted by ns62590 on December 21, 2008
The following severe weather alerts are in effect:
Wind Advisory – through 4am Monday
Wind Chill Advisory – from 7pm Sunday through Noon Monday
An Arctic cold front has moved through the area this morning, and following this will come the biggest punch of cold air we have seen this season. Temperatures near 30 this morning will fall into the mid teens this afternoon along with a few flurries and snow showers possible, but with accumulations only up to an inch if any. Also, the front has already created breezy conditions this morning. Expect these winds to increase to 25 to 35 mph this afternoon with occasional gusts to 50 mph possible. Therefore, a wind advisory has been issued. Take precautions to secure any decorations that may be free-standing in your yards, and all other property that may be out. These winds coupled with the cold air will create dangerously cold wind chills later this afternoon and into Monday morning. Wind chills may approach -10 to -15 degrees during this time frame, therefore a wind chill advisory has been issued. If you will be out this evening and Monday morning, cover all exposed skin to prevent frostbite and hypothermia.
