We had a very interesting Tuesday afternoon and evening as we had between one and two tenths of an inch of ice accumulations on local trees, power lines, roads, and sidewalks. I do have some good news to report. As of midnight, air temperatures have risen to near 34 degrees, so the freezing rain has changed to pure rain. The rain will end overnight. However, as another wave of low pressure rides along the system tomorrow, we will have more precipitation to deal with. Luckily, it will be much colder in the upper levels of the atmosphere, causing the precipitation to be all snow with an inch or two accumulation expected. I don’t know about you, but I’d rather drive in snow than on ice. There will still be some slick spots out there tonight and tomorrow morning; so plan on taking some extra time. Use extreme caution and stay safe out there Youngstown!
