As I have mentioned this weekend, the next few days are going to be pure winter! A storm system currently located over the western Great Lakes will overspread snow into the area towards Tuesday morning. For this reason, a winter weather advisory has been issued from 4am Tuesday through 1am Wednesday! We will see 2 to 4 inches of new snow by late Tuesday night. Along with this system will come windy conditions which will limit visibilities in the snow, making travel increasingly difficult. It will also create blowing and drifting snow, and bring wind chills below zero later in the day Tuesday. It is for this reason that a wind chill advisory has been issued from 6pm Tuesday through 6am Wednesday! If you will be outside for prolonged time periods, please cover up all exposed skin to prevent frostbite and hypothermia. Overnight Tuesday into Wednesday morning, our lows will be around 5, with wind chills between -10 and -20 degrees. However, our real test this week will come later when wind chills may be even lower. But, let’s get this first system out of the area first. Be careful and stay safe out there on Tuesday everyone!
