Moderate Risk for Severe Weather

While we will see some rain and perhaps a few rumbles of thunder this morning, this afternoon and evening may be the biggest threat for severe weather this spring thus far. We have been placed in the moderate risk for severe weather today, as a very strong system will push through the area. The main threat today will be damaging winds. However, some small hail and a few isolated tornadoes are possible throughout Ohio and Indiana. Torrential rains are also expected today with any thunderstorm that develops. Therefore, the National Weather Service has placed Mahoning county under a FLASH FLOOD WATCH through Saturday morning.
