Not AS Nice…

Posted by ns62590 on November 15, 2009

Sunday won’t be as nice as your Saturday was, but it should still be a very good end to your weekend. We will have mostly cloudy skies with temperatures around 58 degrees, with an outside chance of a few sprinkles. The majority of the upcoming workweek should be nice as well.

East Coast Nightmare

Posted by ns62590 on November 12, 2009

The remnants of the former Hurricane Ida have merged with a frontal system and created a nightmare for folks along the Atlantic Coast from New England to the Carolinas. This has been one of the worst Nor’easters we have seen for quite some time. Many places such as the Outer Banks, NC and Virginia Beach, VA have had winds of category 1 hurricane strength and deadly waves and flooding. Virginia has been declared a state of emergency.

For us here in Youngstown, we will see no rain or wind from this or any storm systems for quite some time. Our stretch of dry weather should continue all weekend, with only the chance of a few sprinkles on Sunday. Friday we will see highs in the middle 50s, but expect those numbers to increase into the low 60s for Saturday and Sunday, under partly cloudy to sunny skies!!!

One More Nice Day

Posted by ns62590 on October 26, 2009

Tuesday will be another pretty nice day in the Mahoning Valley for latter October. Highs will be around 62 degrees, about 5 degrees above normal for this time of year. Skies will be mostly cloudy, but some sun will shine especially earlier in the day. The next storm system will be moving into the area late Tuesday and should bring the wet and cooler weather to us Tuesday night and Wednesday, so for now – enjoy Tuesday!!!

Drying Out

Posted by ns62590 on October 23, 2009

Saturday doesnt look to be as wet as today was, however, I don’t think we’ll see much in the way of sunshine. Our high temperature should hover just under the 60 degree mark with mostly cloudy skies. We should have a fairly decent workweek, so all-in-all the weather is on the rebound. Have a great weekend!

A Nice Day! Then…….

Posted by ns62590 on October 21, 2009

If you enjoyed today, then Thursday is going to be another day of the same as highs will reach 70 degrees. However, there will be increased cloudiness as the afternoon progresses ahead of the next storm system that will affect the area. The storm will come in just in time for the weekend – as we can see a large amount of rain and wind affecting us Friday and Saturday. It will also be a little colder as highs won’t even make it to 60 degrees Friday and Saturday. So, if you can take off for your Thursday and enjoy the nice weather because you know it’s October and we probably won’t have much more weather like this.

I’m Saying the “S” Word

Posted by ns62590 on October 14, 2009

Yes, Youngstown I’m saying the “s” word tonight! While it won’t accumulate – there is the chance of a few SNOW flurries overnight Thursday into Friday as well as Friday night into Saturday. Remember, this will not be any big snowfall – it won’t be anything to even measure, but there will be a flake or two flying with some rain showers during the coldest parts of the day. Thursday will be UGLY as highs will only make it to about 43 degrees with off and on rain. Bring that umbrella to work and a coat!!!

Freeze Warning

Posted by ns62590 on October 11, 2009

Our first freeze of the fall season may affect our area tonight as temperatures fall to around 32/33 degrees overnight. This is surprisingly close to the average October 14th first freeze. Needless to say, should you have any plants out through the yard tonight, bring them in or cover them. Tomorrow won’t be too exciting for a Monday as it is – we will have mostly cloudy skies with highs only around 55 degrees.

Beautiful Fall Sunday

Posted by ns62590 on October 10, 2009

As we head into the middle part of October, our average high temperatures begin to fall into the 50s. For your Sunday, however, we will be about 10 degrees below average as our high temperature will be right around the 50 degree mark – but with sunny skies! The week ahead doesn’t look too bad, but until then – enjoy your Sunday!!!!

Frost Advisory

Posted by ns62590 on September 30, 2009

Only one week into the Fall season, and we’re already tracking towards Winter. Tonight’s lows will be down into the middle 30s and therefore, we have been hoisted under a Frost Advisory in effect from 2 til 9am Thursday.  We will warm up, but will remain below normal as highs only get to around 63. However, this is still warmer than today’s 53!

Boring Week

Posted by ns62590 on September 24, 2009

The weather news of most excitement this week was that we changed seasons! Other than that, it has been a boring, rather cloudy week with very little sunshine, but also very little precipitation. The tropics, for being the climatological peak of the season, have been silent since Hurricane Fred dissipated two weeks ago. For your Friday, we should see some sun return, but don’t expect the heat as we probably will only make it to about 70 degrees. Another shot at some rain may come Saturday, so enjoy Friday!!!
